The supernatural is exhilarating, mind-boggling, and fascinating, isn’t it?
If it wasn’t, Hollywood wouldn’t be promoting some type of horror film show-casing demonic beings exercising some form of supernatural power every other week.
Even commercials for well-known companies are using dark magic in their advertising with an Ouiji Board, crystal ball, tarot cards, etc.
And don’t even get me started on these children’s games like FNAF (Five Nights at Freddy’s), Poppy’s Playtime, Dungeons and Dragons, Roblox, Minecraft, and the list goes on!
Then there is this overbearing fascination with “self-enlightenment” and “inner peace” that is sweeping across our young adults — equipped with crystals, meditation, spirit guides, and fortune telling.
Have the demonic powers taken over the supernatural realm?
Where does Christianity fit in? Why aren’t we experiencing the supernatural like everyone else seems to be?
“Whoa, Jacquelyn. Stop right there. Christians shouldn’t experience any supernatural power. Everything we will ever need is already written in the Bible.. our jobs as Christians is to read the Bible and share the Gospel. That’s it.”
Oh. But it’s not.
As you read in the previous post, God intended for us to be supernatural beings, with supernatural authority that conquers all the powers of darkness and reveals the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit living within us!
”Therefore be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.” (Ephesians 5:1)
Being an imitator of Christ means living as Christ did… and how do you think Christ lived? I don’t remember Jesus carrying around a huge tote of prescription medicines that healed all these diseases. Nor do I remember Him making sure He had His full deck of tarot cards or counseling certificate in His pocket to set people free from a life of bondage.
No, Jesus lived and operated by the power of the Holy Spirit — with supernatural authority in which all other powers and entities submitted to. Therefore, we are to go and do likewise.
As a born-again believer, the power within you (the Holy Spirit) is greater than he who is in this world (Satan). (1 John 4:4)
But why are so many professing Christians stale? It’s because they are living as if the only “supernatural” experience they’ll experience is an eternal life spared from hell when they die.
Y’all. This is not the life Jesus purchased on the Cross for you. There is more. So much more.
And whether you understand it now or not, my hope is to speak life and truth to your heart – with power and love – so that you can be challenged to go beyond your natural existence into a powerful, supernatural relationship with Jesus.
You. Are. Loved.
Be blessed!
