“Your Honor, a brief recess please?”
I am by no means a lawyer, but one of my favorite shows, Drop Dead Diva (that I have binge watched many times by the way) is about a model turned lawyer. With that being said, it is to no surprise that I also like the Legally Blonde movies with Reese Witherspoon. Add to it Psych and White Collar, and you have my typical evening entertainment!
Something about the way someone so “unfit” to be a lawyer ends up becoming an extremely successful one is fun for me to watch! I like law, I like justice, and I like when those who judge the success of someone based on their own opinions are proven wrong!
Obviously not everything streaming on my movie channels will be perfectly accurate to an actual Court of Law, but the similarities have always intrigued me and the process of litigation displayed on these shows always seem to entertain the “lawyer” side of myself.
It was because of my interest in law that I was so excited when I was asked to join with others to “Appeal to Heaven” on behalf of our nation a couple months ago. The Courts of Heaven absolutely consider the voices of saints united in an appeal to save our nation and I felt like I was contributing to
perhaps one of the most important appeals ever made to the Judge and Jury of Heaven.
As many already know, I have held firm to the promises of God to restore our nation and to eliminate the evil that has infiltrated our government for years. I believe justice in our election will prevail, and I believe the Lord does not recognize Biden as the President. I also believe the Lord has set His Will into motion and not even the most vile groups of people will be able to stand against Him. It will be accomplished, and I will continue to believe as I have heard.
However, for others, this time of waiting is much harder and even discouraging. Why hasn’t the Lord done something to stop this evil from advancing in our land? Why are we still waiting on His verdict and
justice to finalize?
As I was praying over these questions myself, I remembered my appeal to Heaven with the thousands of others who presented our united case before the Lord. Often times (from my own understanding), in a court hearing, a brief recess is needed by a particular party in order to process new information or evidence, gather more witnesses, or simply use as a strategy to encourage a settlement. For us, I believe we as Christians have also entered into a brief recess. We have presented our case before the Lord and the Jury of His angels, have repented on behalf of our nation as witnesses to the evil happening across the land, and have surrendered our hearts to the righteous judgment of the King. Now, we wait.
Are we waiting for opposing counsel to gather more evidence to justify their evil? I don’t believe so. The defeat of evil was already determined and completed when Jesus died on the Cross. The enemy has lost
this war and will continue losing the battles.
I do, however, believe we are in recess in order to gather more witnesses for the Gospel. There is a desperate need for believers to step into the magnificent grace of God in order for the powerful unleashing of revival to take place in our nation and around the world. Those of us who have received the knowledge of God’s promises cannot give up on the others that He has been calling to Himself.
To many times I have wanted to say, “Just don’t use the people who aren’t responding to You, Lord! They are taking too long to step into Your calling!” as if my timeline was better or as if we could accomplish the purposes of God without “them”. But we can’t. We need those who are still being called
to the goodness of God.
I forget often that I, too, was at one point lost and confused– pursing my own agenda. In fact, if it weren’t for the long-suffering of Christ, the fervent prayers of believers, and the faithfulness to the Harvest of God’s people, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to join in with those who were firmly
rooted in the promises of God and experience the goodness of Jesus with them.
Sometimes waiting on the Lord is difficult. Especially in this season where we have been desperate for Him to restore America. But, what if His plan, derived from His promises, is not delayed. What if we are being granted a short recess to rush the streets of America, preach the Gospel, and rally up believers as witnesses to His glory so that the moment His plan can be perceived by our minds, we have advanced the Gospel and increased in number so much that the gates of Hell regret they even messed with
Christ’s Church in the first place!
My encouragement to you is to keep your hope in Jesus. There are people out there who need us praying for them, sharing with them, and believing in them to be everything God created them to be… for His glory. We have been given this time to harvest others in time for revival.
His verdict is set. His gavel has been raised.
Let’s charge the ends of the earth as witnesses to His glory!
Be blessed my friends!
